KILIS - Project of Border Trade Center (STM) to be established in Oncupinar border gate of southeast Kilis province has been completed.
Kilis Governor Aslan Kutuk said on Saturday that he would submit the project, which was prepared by Public Works and Settlement Ministry, to State Minister Kursad Tuzmen in coming days.
Stressing that STMs in Kilis, Hatay, Gaziantep and Sanliurfa provinces on Turkey-Syria border would be activated, Kutuk said that the goods which would be determined by both countries would be sold in those centers and some of the goods would be exempted from tax. He added that economy of Kilis would be affected positively with the mutual establishment of these centers.
Noting that Syria's decision on opening a consulate in Gaziantep province would comfort businessmen of Kilis, Kutuk said that citizens who wanted to go to Syria could make their visa procedures in Gaziantep.
Kutuk said that relations with Syria would increase with the reducing red-tape.
