ANKARA - International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation started its studies within the Seventh Review at Treasury Undersecretariat on Saturday.
Officials of Finance Ministry, State Planning Organization (SPO) and Treasury attended the studies.
Officials will establish technical information network during the studies about the issues to be discussed before the arrival of IMF's Turkey Desk Chief Reza Moghadam to Ankara who will attend the official meetings to start as of January 14.
Moghadam will meet with officials of Banks Association of Turkey (TBB), Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM), Individual Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) and Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) as of January 12.
The Seventh Review studies will be held in two phases due to schedules of government officials, intensive agenda items and coming Feast of Sacrifice holiday.
The first phase of studies will be held between January 12 and 21 and the second phase will be held in February.
Economy officials and IMF delegation will review 2003 year implementation results, plan review process of economic program in 2004 and determine details of the program's public finance and structural reform elements.
IMF Executive Directors Board can convene in March. After the approval of Seventh Review by the board, IMF will release loan tranche worth of nearly 500 million dollars.
