N Cyprus: The Removal Of The Wall Is Important Only If It Serves To The Opening Of New Border Gates

LEFKOSA - The Presidential Spokesman of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Hasan Ercakica indicated that the removal of the wall was important only if it served to the opening of new border gates.
"If the Greek Cypriot side has taken down the wall to enhance relations with the Turkish side, then it should remove the obstacles in the way of opening the Lokmaci gate," said Ercakica at a weekly press conference.
Ercakica said, "now the issue is to open the Lokmaci gate. It is not right to divert the attention to other issues," regarding the Greek Cypriot administration`s attempts to open a new gate at Yesilirmak.
Ercakica emphasized that the aim of the Turkish side was to open a gate at the Lokmaci region that would unite the two bazaars located at opposite sides of the border.
