ANKARA - Huseyin Uzulmez, vice chairman of Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), stressed that there were important cooperation opportunities between Turkey and Sudan, especially in areas such as agriculture, livestock, infrastructure, textile, mining and leather.
Sudanese Foreign Trade Minister George Boreng Niyami, who arrived in Turkey to attend Turkey-Sudan Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting, paid a courtesy call to TOBB on Tuesday.
During the visit, Uzulmez stated that commercial and economic relations between the two countries could be improved if the agreements on avoiding double taxation and protecting & encouraging investments were rapidly put into force.
Noting that joint investments contributed remarkably to the improvement of commercial relations, Uzulmez said TOBB supported all kinds of cooperation between Turkey and Sudan.
Meanwhile, Sudanese Minister Niyami indicated that private sector had an important role regarding economic growth and creating peaceful atmosphere.
