ISTANBUL - The 38th Convention of The Mediterranean Science Commission will be held in Istanbul from April 9th to 13th.
The congress will be officially opened by Prince Albert II of Monaco.
More than 1,000 scientists from 40 countries will participate in the congress, which will cover impact of global warming on world seas.
Tsunami, climate changes, sea pollution, fishery, sea transportation, Turkish straits, pollution in Black Sea and protection of seas will also be discussed at the congress.
High-level EU executives are expected to attend the congress.
With its 23 member countries, the Mediterranean Science Commission, based in Monaco, support several thousand marine researchers, applying the latest scientific tools to better understand, monitor and protect Mediterranean Sea.
