WIFE BLAMES TURKEY FOR MISSING IRANIAN DEPUTY DEFENSE OFFICIAL
Wife of a former Iranian deputy defense minister, who had disappeared after checking into an Istanbul hotel on December 7th, protested Turkey during a meeting with Turkish ambassador to Tehran. "I told the ambassador that the Turkish government is responsible for this incident," Sima Ahmedi, wife of missing former defense official Ali Reza Asghari, said. Ahmedi further claimed that her husband was abducted by Israeli and American agents.
An official in Ankara said Iran wanted to implicate Turkey in the abduction of the missing Iranian in a bid to cover up Asghari`s involvement with the CIA or the MOSSAD.

FORENSIC AUTHORITY FINDS NO SIGN OF POISONING
Turkish forensic authority said that tests on the terrorist head Abdullah Ocalan showed no signs of poisoning after a team of Turkish experts analyzed his hair, skin and urine samples. "It has been determined that allegations of poisoning were totally baseless," a forensic report said.

NO TRACE OF POISONING
Istanbul Forensic Medicine Department, which examined urine, mucus, faeces and hair samples of terrorist head Abdullah Ocalan, announced that there was no trace of poisoning.
Ocalan`s lawyers asked for the examination of his belongings, as well as the paint on the prison room`s walls this time.

CODE OF THE MEDICINE GANG SOLVED
Security forces exposed a quack remedy gang, headed by a pharmacist, which sells fake, stolen and expired medicine.
Several operations were waged to 5 pharmaceutical warehouses, 14 pharmacists, 2 printing houses and 23 houses in Istanbul. A large amount of special infant food for babies with leukaemia, 190,000 boxes of fake medicine, two trucks of expired medicine, two guns and bullets were discovered during the operations. 14 suspects were detained for "forming a gang" and "putting people`s lives in danger".

SURPRISE IN RIGHT: AGAR AND YILMAZ MEET
Leader of the Turkish True Path Party (DYP) and former prime minister from the Motherland Party (Anavatan) Mesut Yilmaz met each other on Monday. Political experts expect a union in Turkish right prior to the upcoming national elections.

PILOT TRAINING FOR ARMENIA
Turkey is making preparations to become the pilot training center of the region. Accordingly, Turkey will also train pilot candidates coming from Armenia.

CLAIMS THAT HE WAS POISONED WERE PROVED TO BE BASELESS
Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor`s Office announced the report of Turkish Forensic Medicine. The report said there was no poison found in terrorist head Abdullah Ocalan`s blood, urine, mucus, excrement and hair samples.
Tests on Ocalan showed no signs he was being poisoned despite the allegations by his lawyers, it was stated.
A delegation of medical experts had taken blood, urine, and hair samples upon the allegations by his lawyers that he was being poisoned.

FAMILY OF IRANIAN GENERAL ASKS INFORMATION FROM TURKEY
The wife and children of Ali Reza Asghari, former deputy defense minister of Iran who went missing after checking into an Istanbul hotel on December 7th, and who was claimed to have shared Iran`s nuclear secrets with the United States, have asked information regarding the fate of their relative from the Turkish Embassy in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
Sima Ahmdi, wife of Reza Asghari, his three children and brother claimed that Turkey has responsibility on the issue.

U.S. WARNS TURKEY: "WE DO NOT WISH TO SEE AN OPERATION IN IRAQ"
The United States Department of State warned Turkey on Monday that it "does not wish to see a military operation conducted by the Turkish Armed Forces in north of Iraq." "We support the territorial integrity of Iraq. We do not want to see a Turkish military operation in north of Iraq," said Tom Casey, Spokesman for the U.S. Department of State.

ERDOGAN CANCELS ACTIVITIES
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has cancelled his planned trips to Sirnak and Cizre today due to back problems. Erdogan`s scheduled trip to Albania has also been postponed. Erdogan`s doctor advised him to stay at home and rest.

"CHIPPED CHASING" FOR STOLEN CARS
Turkish Finance Ministry gets ready to initiate "vehicle identification system" in motor vehicles. The new system which will be used for financial controls and finding stolen vehicles, will be launched at fuel stations.
The government plans to take precautions against problems concerning the payments at fuel stations, as well as tax evasion caused via fuel sales, thanks to the new system.

KOKSAL: "ONLY THE POLICE WILL NOT BE EFFICIENT"
"Problems regarding public peace have a starting and ending point, the police will not be efficient on its own," said Oguz Kagan Koksal, new Director General for Turkish National Police.
Noting that they would respect the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals, Koksal pointed out that urbanization and the situation caused by migrations were the basic factors that lied beneath the public security.

ELECTRONIC ID CARD TO VEHICLES
The electronic ID card that is planned to be placed on the windshield of the vehicle, will include all the information about the vehicle. Security Department will be able to find all the stolen and changed vehicles thanks to the electronic ID cards.
Cost of the ID card will not be more than 2 USD.

DON`T BE DECEIVED BY SEPARATISTS
Turkish Justice Minister and Government Spokesman Cemil Cicek said certain circles try to play games in allegations on terrorist head Ocalan`s poisoning. Cicek said, "we should not show consideration to such kind of allegations in this process.
Cicek`s comments came after certain circles alleged that terrorist head Abdullah Ocalan was poisoned.

DIYARBAKIR GOVERNOR URGES PEACEFUL NEVROUZ CELEBRATIONS
Efkan Ala, governor of the southeast of city of Diyarbakir called for peaceful celebrations of the spring festivals or the Nevrouz this year, and warned that any provocation would "take the city back 20 years."
"Everyone is tired of an environment of chaos. We have to contribute to the process of improvement and development," Ala said.

FRENCH BUSINESSMEN CALLS FOR MEDITERRANEAN UNION
Jean Francois Bernardin, chairman of the French Assembly of Commerce and Industry Chambers, urged France and Turkey to initiate for the establishment of a Mediterranean economic union between the countries of the region. "A union, which would be in solidarity with both the EU and the Mediterranean region, would open new horizons," Bernardin said.

Acting on the tip off that 2 Glock type weapons were sent to Black Sea city of Trabzon from Istanbul, police detained Rusen U. and Muammer K. in Trabzon`s bus stop in connection with the incident.
It was later revealed that real owner of the weapons were Izzet S, who is the neighbor of father and brother of the person identified with the initials O.A. who killed Andrea Santoro, the priest of the Sancta Maria church of the city.

MINISTRY WAITS FOR MEVLANA PROJECTS
Turkish Ministry of Culture & Tourism expects more "sensitivity" from NGOs on the 800th birth anniversary of the great spiritual leader of Islam`s Sufi order, Jalal ud-din Rumi or Mevlana.
Celil Gungor, the Search and Education Director of the Ministry, said, "we will extend support to projects of the NGOs like seminars, symposiums, conferences, and festivals about Mevlana."
