Atalay Meets With Omani National Heritage And Culture Minister Said And Omani National Economy Minister Makki

MUSCAT - State Minister Besir Atalay, who is currently in Oman to attend Turkey-Oman Joint Economic Commission (JEC) Fourth Term Meeting, met with Omani National Heritage and Culture Minister Ali Al Said on Sunday.
Atalay said that he was following the successful developments in Omani economy with appreciation, adding that not only economy but also cooperation in cultural, education and youth issues would be taken up in JEC meetings.
Al Said said that when he was undersecretary, he exerted very much efforts for cooperation with Turkey, adding that their aim was to build a sound bridge.
Atalay then met with Omani Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Chairman Abdullah bin Salim Al Rowas and attended a meeting with Omani investors and businessmen. Rowas informed Atalay about the trade between the two countries and expressed his pleasure with the development in relations in recent years. He said that increasing trade amount between the two countries was pleasing, adding that the current amount was not sufficient and he called Turkish businessmen to make investment. He said that they could market their production together with Turkish businessmen, adding that joint investment opportunities and facilities were limitless.
Atalay addressed businessmen of chamber and wished that this meeting would be a cause for the development of relations with private sector.
Atalay said, ''I am pleased to see that Omani businessmen also want to develop commercial and economic relations. We came here with full will to develop our relations as well. Our cooperation will open new horizons. Globalization makes our world a small village. This situation is experienced mostly in economy and trade field. Turkey, following this developments, integrated with external world and its foreign trade became completely free.''
Atalay then met with Omani National Economy Minister Ahmad bin Abd al Nabi al Makki. Makki said that he was sure this visit would accelerate bilateral relations.
Atalay will meet with Omani Deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmud Al Said and Omani Transport and Communications Minister Malik bin Sulayman al Mamari tomorrow and he will visit construction sites of Turkish firms which are active in Oman.
