LOS ANGELES - Former US President George H. W. Bush was released from hospital on Monday after being taken ill while playing golf in California, a statement said.
Bush, 82, was admitted to the Eisenhower Medical Center on Sunday after becoming dizzy and dehydrated while playing golf with friends in blazing sunshine and 94-degree heat near Palm Springs.
"Bush was released from Eisenhower this morning and will resume his full schedule today," the hospital said in a statement.
Local media reports said Bush had fainted during the golf game.
The 41st US president, Bush served between 1989 and 1993. He became the oldest living former president following the death of Gerald Ford last December.
