Babacan To Visit Switzerland, France And Romania

ANKARA - Turkish State Minister & Chief Negotiator for the EU Ali Babacan will pay formal visits to Switzerland, France and Romania within this week.
Babacan will leave for Switzerland later today. He will hold a series of talks with Swiss authorities tomorrow and address the Investors' Conference as speaker.
On Wednesday, Babacan will proceed to Strasbourg to meet members of the European Parliament.
He is scheduled to meet EP Greens Group Co-Chairman Daniel Cohn-Bendit, EP Vice President for Enlargement Miguel Angel Martinez, EP Socialist Group Chairman Martin Schulz and EP Liberal Group Chairman Graham Watson.
Babacan will meet Turkey-the EU Joint Parliamentary Commission Co-President Joost Lagendijk and pay a visit of courtesy to EP President Hans-Gert Pottering on Thursday.
He will proceed to Romania later in the same day.
During his two-day stay in Romania, Babacan will meet Romanian Secretary of State for European Affairs Adrian Ciocanea, main opposition party leader Mircea Dan Geoana, European Integration Minister Anca Daniela Boagiu and Finance Minister Sebastian Vladescu.
Babacan is expected to return to Turkey on Friday.
On the other hand, Babacan will visit Hungary and Bulgaria next week, sources indicated.
