ANKARA - Turkish Finance Ministry will initiate "vehicle identification system" which will be used both for financial proceedings and finding stolen vehicles.
Vehicle identification units will be established at fuel stations for the new system.
There will be license plate information, engine number and chassis number in vehicle identification unit. A chipped micro card will be sticked on front glass or on tank cap of the vehicle. Information which are recorded on these cards cannot be erased, and cannot be changed by anybody except the authorized persons.
Finance Ministry will issue the required notification regarding the new system in the first half of this year, then the applications of manufacturer and exporter companies will be received. Finance Ministry will approve the companies which comply with required conditions for the new system.
The system will be helpful for Finance Ministry for financial trailing in fuel sector. It will also help Security Department to find stolen vehicles.
