ANKARA - Foreign exchange deposit accounts at banks with letter of credit and super foreign exchange accounts increased 354 trillion Turkish lira (TL) to 71 quadrillion 274 trillion TL between December 26, 2003 and January 2, 2004.
According to Central Bank's provisional statistics, total foreign exchange deposit accounts at banks was 70 billion 920 million U.S. dollars on December 26.
Foreign exchange deposits increased 302 million U.S. dollars to 54 billion 58 million U.S. dollars in the same period.
Total internal foreign exchange deposits increased 144 million U.S. dollars to 51 billion 387 million U.S. dollars while external foreign exchange deposits increased 158 million U.S. dollars to 2 billion 671 million U.S. dollars in the same period.
Meanwhile, total foreign exchange deposits at the interbank market increased 36 million U.S. dollars to 598 million U.S. dollars.
Foreign exchange deposits with letter of credit and super foreign exchange accounts increased 210 million U.S. dollar to 17 billion 426 million U.S. dollars between December 26, 2003 and January 2, 2004.
