ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul has given directives for erection of a monument at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) out of respect to diplomats who were killed in terrorist attacks while working abroad.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Thursday that necessary works had been started upon directives of Gul.
The place of the monument will be determined later.
A total of 34 public workers lost their lives in terrorist attacks abroad.
The martyred diplomats are being commemorated each year at the MFA's cemetery in Cebeci district of Ankara.
