ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that road map of the government on Cyprus issue would be announced after the meeting of National Security Council (NSC).
Erdogan told reporters prior to his departure for Germany that not only the Presidency but also the General Staff and the government discussed every issue.
Prime Minister Erdogan asked citizens not to respect to all the news on Cyprus issue because some news might not be accurate.
Asked if a result which took Annan plan as basis came out of the Cyprus summit, Erdogan said that a press statement was released after the Cyprus summit held at the Presidential Palace earlier in the day.
Erdogan noted that work on the issue would be taken up in the NSC meeting due on January 23 and then, the government would announce its road map.
He also met with leaders of four political parties in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Erdogan stated.
Erdogan said that he also met with Republican Turkish Party (CTP) leader Mehmet Ali Talat, who was designated to form the government, and had the opportunity to learn Talat's views on Annan plan.
Prime Minister Erdogan went on saying, ''we wish that political parties in TRNC will form a government as soon as possible. And, we will appreciate it. The longer the process of formation of a government is, the less excited Turkish Cypriot citizens will be. This will be a pity.''
''What is Turkey's view and opinion on Annan plan? What is the view of political parties in TRNC in formation of this opinion? It is the target of all of us to discuss these questions and find the best answer. Therefore, our meetings were fruitful and meaningful. I believe that we will hold meetings from time to time. We will make final evaluations in NSC meeting and take our decision,'' Erdogan said.
Erdogan noted that he would not meet with United Nations (U.N.) Secretary General Kofi Annan during World Economic Forum to be held in Davos, Switzerland.
Asked if he could guess any date for solution of Cyprus issue, Erdogan said, ''undoubtedly, our efforts aim at a solution. Therefore, we will exert every effort for a settlement.''
