LONDON - National Education Minister Huseyin Celik, who is currently paying an official visit to Britain, met with British Secretary of State for Education and Skills Charles Clarke.
Celik also held a press conference in Turkish-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Stating that he held very fruitful meetings on computer in education and communication technologies, Celik said that period of giving education with old methods ended. Celik said that Turkey would follow new technologies in education field.
Recalling that there were 19 million students and 60 thousand schools in Turkey, Celik said that they aimed at providing students with a new education style.
Celik said that Clarke and he focused on problems of Turkish students who were studying in Britain during their meeting and stated that those problems would be taken up in detail in meetings which would be held by education joint commissions of the two countries soon. He said that Turkish students' education on Turkish language and culture and fee of Turkish students who came to Britain to attend master programs or Ph. D programs were among those problems.
Stating that a report would be prepared after meetings of Turkish-British education joint commissions and ministers of the two countries would exert efforts for solution of problems, Celik noted that it was possible to reach an agreement between Turkey and Britain after those meetings.
Celik is expected to return to Turkey on Thursday.
