ANKARA - The companies which will compete at the bidding phase of the second tube tunnel planned to be constructed in Istanbul, started activities to form consortiums.
Many companies from Britain, USA, Germany and Japan are expected to participate in the tender to be held for the construction of the tunnel, on June 12th.
Meanwhile, some Turkish firms which have experience in similar projects and which attended the tender for the first tunnel as well, are seeking foreign companies in order to form consortiums, sources said.
-COMPANIES FROM JAPAN AND EU TO COMPETE-
For the construction of the first tube tunnel, numerous Japanese companies had participated in the tender and submitted offers.
A consortium comprising of Turkish and Japanese firms assumed the construction work of the first tunnel.
