ANKARA - Turkey`s project with the greatest budget has been 1st phase of Lower Euphrates project with YTL 6,4 billion of investment so far.
According to data compiled from the State Planning Organisation figures, 6,405,000,000 YTL was invested in the project including the Atatürk dam and the Sanliurfa tunnels. The project which began in 1975 will be finished with an additional investment of 4 million YTL this year.
Turkey`s second greatest project was Eastern Black Sea Coastal Highway project with a planned investment of 6,233,000,000 YTL. 4,5 billion YTL has been invested in the project so far and another 251 million YTL will be invested this year. The project is expected to be finished by 2010.
The third greatest project of Turkey is the Marmaray Rail Tube Tunnel project with a budget of 5,082,000,000 YTL. 543 million YTL was spent in 2006 and another 212 million YTL will be spent this year on the project which is expected to be finished by 2009.
While the total sum of the budgets of the first ten projects amounts to 38,5 billion YTL, this amount corresponds to the 17 percent of the 256 billion YTL worth stock of projects.
