ANKARA - State Minister Kursad Tuzmen is going to Israel tomorrow together with 100 businessmen to attend the Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting and to held bilateral talks with officials.
According to a statement issued from the state ministry, the businessmen who are travelling to Israel will held bilateral talks with Isreali businessmen in Tel Aviv.
The Turkish delegation will be chaired by Tuzmen and the Israeli delegation will be chaired by Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor Eliyahu Yishai.
Stating that the trade volume between Israel and Turkey reached 2.3 billion dollars, Tuzmen said in the statement, "the current trade volume does not represent the potential between the two countries. The trade volume between the two countries can be much higher. During this visit, Turkish businessmen from different sectors will meet Israeli businessmen and will try to work towards increasing this trade volume."
Tuzmen said that he would hold bilateral talks with Israeli government officials to discuss measures that can be taken to increase the trade volume between Turkey and Israel.
Tuzmen and the accompanying delegation will return to Turkey on March 8th.
