ANKARA - Pakistani Parliament Speaker Amir Hussain and accompanying parliamentary delegation visited on Tuesday Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission and Turkey-Pakistan Friendship Group.
The meeting between Hussain and Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission Chairman and Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Antalya deputy Mehmet Dulger was closed to press.
Hussain and accompanying delegation then visited Turkey-Pakistan Friendship Group.
Hussain expressed his pleasure for visiting Turkey. He said that although relations between two countries were good, the relations on the fields of trade, culture and education should be developed. He added that Turkey had always supported Pakistan in local and international issues and they were pleased with that.
Turkey-Pakistan Friendship Group Chairman and AK Party Diyarbakir Deputy Mehmet Mehdi Eker said that Turkey supported Pakistan in Kashmir issue, adding that they always had Pakistan's warm support on Cyprus issue.
Noting that two countries did not have any problems, Eker said that high-ranking visits and contacts between Turkey and Pakistan would contribute to further strengthening of relations.
Eker stressed that in spite of good relations, the economic and commercial relations between two countries were weak. He wished economic and commercial relations to be developed and said that some measures should be taken to convey the existing friendly and close relations to next generation.
