Babacan: We Have Cleared Up Repayments To I.M.F. In 2004 And 2005

ANKARA - State Minister Ali Babacan said on Tuesday that they had cleared up repayments to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2004 and 2005.
Speaking on CNN-Turk television channel, Babacan said, ''however, we have not yet discussed 2006 year and after. When we put the economic program on broad scale, we made a stand-by deal with the IMF, structural reforms with the World Bank and reforms regarding the European Union.''
''Moreover, we did what was required in fields of compulsory savings repayments, farmer loans, minimum wage and betterment of pensions. In the next stage, we will sit at the table through mid-2004 and discuss the format of relations with the IMF. We do not want to enter process of a new loan agreement,'' he said.
