ANKARA - Red Crescent will send humanitarian aid materials to Iran on Sunday.
A statement of Red Crescent said that the fourth humanitarian aid materials would be sent to Iran by four cargo planes on Sunday.
The statement said that Red Crescent's 319 billion 168 million Turkish liras (TL) worth of humanitarian aid materials would be sent directly to Bam city of Iran which was jolted by a devastating quake last week.
Noting that humanitarian materials included 10 thousand blankets, three thousand sleeping bags, one thousand stoves and 10 polyclinic tents, the statement said that Turkish Red Crescent set up the first tent city in quake region in Iran. The statement added that Red Crescent continued its efforts to set up the second tent city in Bam.
The statement said that Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Firooz Dowlatabadi sent a message to Red Crescent Director General Ertan Gonen and thanked Red Crescent for its humanitarian aid sent after the earthquake in Iran.
