ANKARA - The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced on Saturday that wholesale prices increased by 13.9 percent and consumer prices rose by 18.4 percent in 2003 compared to prices of the previous year.
In December of 2003, wholesale prices increased by 0.6 percent and consumer prices rose by 0.9 percent.
According to 12-month averages as of December 2003, annual inflation rate was 25.6 percent in wholesale prices and 25.3 percent in consumer prices.
Price increase in the private sector of manufacturing industry which is called core inflation rate became 0.9 percent in December and 12.3 percent in 2003.
In 2002, annual inflation was 30.8 in wholesale prices and 29.7 percent in consumer prices.
