BAGHDAD - Another US soldier has been shot dead in Baghdad, where American and Iraqi forces are fighting to quell sectarian violence, the military said Wednesday.
US troops were conducting a joint patrol with Iraqi National Police commandos in west Baghdad on Tuesday "when they received small arms fire, killing one soldier", it said in a statement.
The death brought to 3,159 the US military`s losses in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion, according to an AFP tally based on Pentagon figures.
