BERLIN - German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Wednesday that job cuts at the European aircraft maker Airbus appeared to have been fairly distributed between Germany and France.
"At first sight, the principle of fair distribution appears to have been respected," Merkel said.
Airbus announced that 4,300 jobs would be cut in France, 3,700 in Germany, 1,600 in Britain and 400 in Spain as part of a major cost-cutting operation.
