Greek Air force Mirage 2000 fighter jet crashed

ATHENS - A Greek Airforce Mirage 2000 fighter jet crashed near the Tanagra military air base on Tuesday. The pilot successfully ejected to safety, the defense ministry said.
According to the ministry, the Mirage 2000 crashed in the Evoikos Gulf region near Mount Chtypas shortly after taking off from Tanagra.
A rescue operation has been launched to find and bring the pilot to safety.
A preliminary probe indicated that the crash was due to mechanical failure.
