Repo Transactions Between Banks And Their Customers Increase In 2003

ANKARA - Repo transactions between banks and their customers increased by 11.4 percent in 2003 when compared with 2002.
The Central Bank data show that repo transactions, which were 2 quadrillion 763 trillion Turkish liras (TL) on December 27, 2002 increased 315.6 trillion TL to 3 quadrillion 78.6 trillion TL on December 26, 2003.
Repo transactions among the financial organizations increased 34.6 percent from 5 quadrillion 117.7 trillion TL to 6 quadrillion 886.9 trillion TL in the mentioned period.
The reverse repo transactions among the financial organizations, which were 4 quadrillion 925.3 trillion TL on December 27, 2002, increased 38.9 percent to 6 quadrillion 843.2 trillion TL on December 26, 2003.
Meanwhile, repo transactions between banks and their customers increased by 70.5 trillion Turkish liras (TL) between December 19 and December 26, 2003.
The Central Bank data show that the repo transactions were 3 quadrillion 8.1 trillion TL on December 19.
Repo transactions among the financial organizations decreased 375.9 trillion TL on December 26. They were 7 quadrillion 262.8 trillion TL on December 19.
The reverse repo transactions among the financial organizations decreased 377.6 trillion TL on December 26. They were 7 quadrillion 220.8 trillion TL on December 19.
