Turkish Red Crescent Continues Efforts To Set Up Temporary Encampment In Iran

BAM - Turkish Red Crescent continued on Friday efforts to set up a temporary encampment in Bam city of Iran, which was rocked by a devastating earthquake a week ago.
The Red Crescent is expected to set up the temporary encampment in the quake zone this evening.
The temporary encampment will become operational as of Saturday.
Officials stated that about four thousand quake survivors could settle in that temporary encampment.
Turkish civil defense, search and rescue and health teams comprised of 150 people are expected to return to Turkey on Saturday; however, Turkish Red Crescent will continue to serve Iranian quake survivors in the temporary encampment.
An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale hit Bam city of Iran at 5:28 a.m. Iranian time on December 26, 2003, killing and injuring many.
