KONYA - Prominent Turkish-American cardiothrocic surgeon and author Prof. Dr. Mehmet Oz will be nominated as a candidate for Turkish parliament's "Award of Merit".
Sources told the A.A today that the provincial council in central Anatolian city of Konya will name Oz as the city's candidate for the "Award of Merit" that is given by the Turkish parliament. This proposal will be discussed in the next provincial council meeting and upon acceptance the candidacy will be presented to the parliament.
Although Mehmet Oz was born in Cleveland, Ohio and currently living in the USA, his parents have birth record in the central Anatolian city of Konya.
