Leonardo da Vinci Exhibition Opens at Ankara's METU

An exhibition showcasing the genius of Leonardo da Vinci is now on display at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara.

The show features 40 working replicas of machines Leonardo designed between 1478 and 1513. Historians and engineers who specialize in his work built the models using period-appropriate materials, including wood, rope, and glue.

The exhibition is organized into five sections. Four of them explore Leonardo's fascination with the classical elements, fire, water, earth, and air, while a fifth section gathers additional devices.

Visitors are invited to engage with Leonardo's way of thinking and his view of knowledge as a unified pursuit, one that sought to understand the principles behind both human activity and the natural world.

The exhibition runs through 24 March.
