OBERHAUSEN - Europeans come to Turkey for eye operations, said ophthalmology expert Op. Dr. Dilek Uzer on Saturday.
Uzer attended a meeting in German city of Essen on health tourism as a guest of Center for Studies on Turkey (TAM).
Dr. Uzer who said Europeans come to Turkey for eye operations, emphasized the high-tech hospitals, qualified medical personnel in Turkey, especially in Istanbul.
"A laser operation for two eyes costs between 400 - 700 euros in Turkey. It is between 2,500-3,000 euros in Germany. As the difference is so high, Europeans prefer to receive medical treatment in Turkey."
Uzer said they expect more people from European countries to Turkey especially for treatment of farsightedness, astigmatism, and shortsightedness.
