PARIS - French capital Paris hosts concert series promoting Istanbul with its traditional and modern music.
The five-day organization kicked off yesterday with the concert of a Turkish quartet, "Selim Sesler Dortlusu", in the "Cite de da Musique" music hall. The concert presented a mix of techno and Gipsy music.
Today an open session on "Istanbul and its music" will be held in the framework of activities and prominent reed flute artist Kudsi Erguner will give a concert composed of samples of Ottoman music.
Erkan Ogur and Ismail Demircioglu will hold a concert composed of traditional Turkish music. "Kardes Turkuler" is another Turkish group that will take the stage on Sunday. The concert series will end with the concert of jazz orchestrate of Onder Focan on Tuesday.
