ANKARA - "We have had efforts for two years to develop and co-produce some local industries and two new weapon systems with United Arab Emirates (UAE)," said Director General Huseyin Baysak of Roketsan, a Turkish defense industry company.
"We are hoping to sign a contract in 2007 for the first system," Baysak told A.A correspondent.
Talks and activities for the second system are underway and a contract can be signed in 2008, he said but did not give any information about the systems.
Stating that UAE is among the target markets for Roketsan, Baysak noted that they attend defense industry fairs held in this region.
