ANKARA - "We have reached an agreement on establishing a preferred commercial accord between Turkey and Iran," Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Wednesday.
Turkey-Iran 19th Term Joint Economic Commission (JEC) protocol was signed in Ankara today.
"We have talked on eradicating all obstacles before commerce with Iran," noted Tuzmen.
Tuzmen stressed that "both Turkey and Iran will work in ending problems of the transportation sectors. Delegations from both countries will get together in two weeks to develop energy relations."
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Motaki indicated that commercial issues have a prominent status in Turkey-Iran relations.
"One million Iranians visit Turkey every year. A great portion of these Iranians utilize planes and some use buses. A new railway between the Van Lake and Iran will contribute to tourism in both countries," added Motaki.
