ANKARA - Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a message to Iranian FM Manuchehr Motaki that Turkey is hopeful that Iran`s nuclear program controversy will be solved through diplomatic means.
Erdogan had a one-and-a-half-hour meeting with Motaki at the Prime Ministry building in Turkish capital of Ankara.
According to sources, Erdogan told Motaki that the nuclear program controversy should be solved through negotiations, and expressed belief that there are still some initiatives that can be exerted.
The same sources quoted Erdogan as saying that Turkey will continue to do its best for a diplomatic settlement.
On the other hand, Motaki reiterated that his country`s nuclear energy program is pacifist.
Motaki thanked Turkey for its endeavors aiming to overcome this problem, while Erdogan and Motaki also discussed bilateral relations, particularly trade between Turkey and Iran.
