ANKARA - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said the trade volume between Turkey and Azarbaijan reached one billion USD for the first time.
State Minister Tuzmen received Azabaijan`s Customs Committee Chairman Aydin Aliyev and an accompanying delegation in Ankara.
Noting that EU played an important role in Turkey`s foreign trade, Tuzmen said, "What are the reasons keeping us from increasing our trade with Azarbaijan? We should analyze the drop from a share of 40-50 percent to just 10 percent all together."
Tuzmen pointed out that Turkish companies experienced some difficulties in customs and that the high customs duties were causing problems.
Aliyev said it was necessary to work together in the solving of the problems and stated they were aiming to enhance the cooperation as two states and one sole nation.
