ISTANBUL - Nineteen people from International Police Association (IPA) including First International Vice President Friedrich Schwindt, Helmut Irmen, President of IPA Germany Section, and Alois Ochs, President of Criminal Department came to Istanbul on Wednesday to spend their Christmas holiday.
Schwindt told reporters that all countries should cooperate to eradicate terrorism and therefore, they did not cancel their visit to Turkey which they had planned long before.
Terrorists could not restrict their freedom of travel and democratic freedom, Schwindt said.
Noting that terrorist attacks had been staged in Turkey in November 2003, Schwindt said that bombs could explode in other countries in the future.
Therefore, Schwindt stated, nobody should fear and stay at home.
Schwindt added that he would tell both his colleagues and people in his country that Turkey was as secure as other countries.
