KOCAELI - Israeli Consul General in Istanbul Mordehai Aminai said Israel was not the country to blame for the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Aminei paid a visit to the governor of the northwestern city of Kocaeli, Gokhan Sozer, at his office. Answering questions from the press, Aminei said the only intention of Israel was to promote stability in Israel and its neighbours.
Stressing that they were for an official state of Palestine that could coexist side by side with Israel, Aminei said that despite the failure of Palestine to comply with principles set out by the international community, Israel was doing its best and that the recent trio meeting between Israeli PM Ehud Olmert, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was a good example of this.
