BURSA - A United Nations report on climate change ranked Turkey 13th among countries to release energy-related carbon dioxide, with an annual amount of 294 million metric tons.
The list topped the USA with 5.5 billion tons, followed by Russia with 2.8 billion and Japan with 1.3 billion tons.
The list also said that Turkey`s carbon dioxide emissions grew the fastest in the world between the years 1990 and 2004 with a 72.6 percent increase.
