LEFKOSA - It is time for a political solution in Cyprus, said Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
Meeting FM Turgay Avci of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ihsanoglu noted that TRNC has made progress in areas such as economy, education, trade and social life in recent years despite severe isolation.
Ihsanoglu pointed out that Turkish Cypriots should be granted all constitutional rights, and a settlement, based on equality, should be found.
The OIC supports settlement of the Cyprus question on legitimate basis, he added.
