LEFKOSA - Republican Turkish Party (CTP) leader Mehmet Ali Talat, who was designated by President Rauf Denktas of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to form the new government, visited on Tuesday Democracy Movement (BDH) leader Mustafa Akinci.
Talat said that after he was designated to form the government, he paid his first visit to BDH which they had signed a joint protocol, adding that they would evaluate the situation.
Noting that he would visit National Unity Party (UBP) at noon, Talat said that they could not meet with Democrat Party (DP) today because DP proceeded to Greek Cypriot side.
Akinci expressed his pleasure that Talat was designated to form the government and said that they wanted a government, which wanted solution and the European Union (EU), to be formed without waiting for 15 days to end.
Noting that time was passing and they did not have even one day to spend to form the government, Akinci said that the period until May 2004 constituted the most important days.
