Talat: Minority Government Is Not On Our Agenda

LEFKOSA - Republican Turkish Party (CTP) leader Mehmet Ali Talat said on Monday that minority government was not on their agenda.
Talat told reporters that his party foresaw that a majority government based on the principle of solution of Cyprus issue should be formed.
CTP leader Talat said that parliamentary group and assembly of his party would convene on Tuesday to discuss new government formulas in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Talat noted that he would also start holding meetings with other political parties on Tuesday.
``His party did not eliminate any formula of a broad-based government formed by four political parties within the framework of principle of a solution to Cyprus issue,`` Talat reiterated.
Earlier in the day, TRNC President Rauf Denktas designated CTP leader Mehmet Ali Talat to form the new government.
Talat`s party won 19 seats at the parliament following the parliamentary elections held on December 14, 2003.
