ANKARA - Turkish health teams helped four thousand Iranian quake survivors in the wake of the devastating earthquake in Bam city of Iran.
A statement of Health Ministry Crisis Center said on Monday that Turkish health teams started to help quake survivors in two polyclinics in the quake zone.
The statement noted that four thousand quake survivors had been examined in the polyclinics as of 5.30 p.m.
All the quake survivors gave inoculations against tetanus and some minor surgical operations were made in the polyclinics, the statement pointed out.
Meanwhile, materials and equipment needed by health teams in Iran, six tons of medicine and one doctor and one health official went to the quake zone on Monday.

Selaaddin Durmaz, who coordinated Turkish teams in the region on behalf of Prime Ministry's Directorate General of Emergency Management, told A.A correspondent that search and rescue efforts would also continue on Tuesday.
Durmaz said that Turkish polyclinic in the quake zone would be increased to four tents.
Noting that the French planned to form a field hospital, Durmaz said that they planned to send people who suffered serious injuries and who applied to Turkish health team to that field hospital.
Durmaz said that one team each from the Prime Ministry, Health Ministry, Public Works and Housing Ministry and Red Crescent would come to the quake zone.
The Prime Ministry had a busy diplomacy traffic with Iranian authorities to send prefabricated huts and tents to Bam city, Durmaz pointed out.
Durmaz guessed that there were about 100 thousand homeless in Bam city in the wake of the devastating earthquake, adding that that tents and prefabricated huts to be sent by Turkey would meet a great deal of accommodation need in the quake zone.
The new Red Crescent team is expected to join the Turkish team in Bam this evening while Kocaeli Medical Group is departing from Turkish camp.
