Civil Defense Team Leaves For Iran

ANKARA - A search and rescue team comprised of 80 people from Directorate General of Civil Defense left for Iran on Sunday.
A statement of the Interior Ministry's Directorate General of Civil Defense said that 14 search and rescue technicians, one doctor, one fully-equipped rescue vehicle, two other vehicles from Ankara left for Iran.
The statement noted that two fully-equipped rescue vehicle, two vehicles, two sniffer dogs and 13 people from Istanbul Civil Defense Search and Rescue Directorate went to Iran to join search and rescue efforts.
Fifteen people from Golcuk, 19 people from Kocaeli, 8 people from Bursa, and five people from non-governmental search and rescue organizations went to Iran, the statement said.
The statement added that teams which had reached the quake zone started to exert search and rescue efforts.
