Red Crescent Sends Emergency Aid Equipment To Iran

ANKARA - Red Crescent sent emergency aid to Iran on Saturday.
Red Crescent Deputy Director General Mustafa Guven said the six-truck of aid was prepared in line with demands of Iranian Red Crescent.
Guven said they also sent humanitarian aid to Iran with a plane allocated by General Staff.
Guven said the aid was comprised of 110 parcels of medical equipment, 1000 parcels of foodstuff, 14 generators, 7500 blankets, 400 tents, and 3000 kitchen equipment.
A total of 28 people including 19 doctors and nine health personnel, 13 people from Provincial Civilian Defense Directorate, and five people team from Search and Rescue Operation, and Kocaeli Search and Rescue team left for Iran.
An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale hit Bam city of Iran at 5:28 a.m. Iranian time on Friday. According to preliminary reports more than 4 thousand people lost their lives and about 30 thousand people were wounded since the quake hit the city when most of the people were in bed, raising fears that the death toll may go higher.
