Oath Ceremony To Be Held At Trnc Parliament On Friday

LEFKOSA - A total of 50 deputies, who entered to Parliament following the elections held in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on December 14, will officially start their term in office after taking oath on Friday.
According to TRNC Constitution, Parliament has to convene by itself on the tenth day after the publication of election results in Official Gazette.
Dervis Eroglu, the leader of the National Unity Party (UBP), will chair the meeting of Parliament at 10.00 a.m. on Friday with the title of ''the oldest member''.
Four of seven political parties had gained the right of representation at Parliament following the general elections in TRNC.
Republican Turkish Party-United Powers (CTP-BG) will have 19, UBP will have 18, Democrat Party (DP) will have 7 and Peace and Democracy Movement (BDH) will have 6 deputies at Parliament. 50 deputies were elected to work for five years.
President Rauf Denktas is expected to designate one of the leaders of those parties or a deputy to form the government after deputies take oath.
