ISLAMABAD/ANKARA - Industry and Trade Minister Ali Coskun said on Thursday that the world entered a big competition age, adding that the most important condition of survival in this age was to develop technology.
Coskun, who is currently in Islamabad, Pakistan to attend the 11th general assembly of OIC Scientific and Technology Committee, told A.A correspondent on the phone that the meeting was held at the level of OIC member states' ministers in charge of technology and industry. Coskun stated that a mission was earlier given to Turkey to make research on water technologies and oceanography and the studies would be presented during the meeting on Friday.
Coskun said that committees were formed and workshops were prepared within the scope of the meeting, adding that the technology needs of the countries were very high.
Coskun said that the most significant condition to survive in this age was to develop technology, adding that the aim among Islamic countries was to establish a common technology unity by making researches on various issues.
Coskun said regarding the assassination attempt which was claimed to be held against Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf that the issue was not clear yet.
