ANKARA - Fire broke out in Modern Bazaar in Ankara on Wednesday.
Sources told A.A correspondent that the fire which broke out around 8.30 a.m. immediately spread around the bazaar where flammable, explosive and volatile substances are sold.
The sources said that tradesmen who had workplaces near the bazaar rushed into streets.
Tradesmen who did not suffer any injuries in the fire stated that fire spread all around the bazaar and some of their friends could not reach the exits due to fire and heavy smoke, adding that there might be people who died due to the fire.
Meanwhile, explosions are heard in the bazaar from time to time.
As the fire brigade of Ankara Municipality could not put out the fire on its own, Ankara Municipality asked for support from other institutions and municipalities of the towns of Ankara.
Police have taken tight security measures around the Modern Bazaar.
