B.D.H. Leader: There Is No Change In Their Position

LEFKOSA - Mustafa Akinci, the leader of Peace and Democracy Movement (BDH) in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), said on Tuesday that there was no change in the position of their party.
Following his meeting with TRNC President Rauf Denktas, Akinci told reporters that there was nothing clear about efforts to form the government.
Akinci reiterated that the target of the government was more important than the model of the government.
The target was solution and European Union (EU) till May 1, 2004, Akinci stated.
Akinci said that Denktas defined Annan plan as ''dead'' while Turkey noted that ''the plan was on the table.''
In case of holding an early election due to a deadlock in searches for a government, not only general election but also election of president should be held, Akinci claimed.
Akinci stated that he expressed that view during his meeting with Denktas.
Statements of Dervis Eroglu, National Unity Party (UBP) leader and TRNC Prime Minister, about Annan plan ''did not give any impression of confidence'', Akinci added.
