ANKARA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday that the decision about members of terrorist organization November 17 showed once again that terrorists would serve sentence of what they did sooner or later.
A statement of Foreign Ministry recalled Greek justice's decision about members of terrorist organization November 17 and said, ''the decision which was taken in trial has showed once again that no target can be reached through terrorism and terrorists will give account of what they have done in front of justice and serve their sentences sooner or later.''
The statement said that terrorists who were responsible for killing two Turkish diplomats in Turkish Embassy in Athens and injuring seriously three diplomats and personnel were sentenced imprisonment on the basis of law and noted that they expected those convicts to serve their sentence. It also said those who were responsible for killing other two Turkish people and excluded from this case due to statute of limitations to be found.
The statement added that Turkey hoped that this decision which was taken about members of terrorist organization November 17 would lessen sorrow of families of martyrs.
A Greek court sentenced members of the November 17 to between 8 and 50 year prison terms on charges of 23 assassinations, many attempts to assassinate, bomb attacks and robberies. One of defendants was released on bail.
