BANDIRMA - An F-16 war plane crashed on Monday near Bandirma town of Balikesir province in the Marmara Region.
F-16 war plane which took off from Bandirma Sixth Main Jet Base Command for training flight crashed in Bandirma town at 6.31 p.m.
Pilot Serhat Yildirim who achieved to jump out of the plane survived the accident despite injuries.
Yildirim was taken under treatment in Bandirma Mustafa Guven Karahan State Hospital.
GENERAL STAFF CONFIRMS CAUSE OF F-16 WAR PLANE CRASH AS TECHNICAL FAILURE
The General Staff confirmed on Monday that F-16 war plane crashed in Bandirma town of Balikesir province in the Marmara Region due to a technical failure.
A statement of the General Staff said that F-16 plane belonging to Bandirma Sixth Main Jet Base Command crashed due to a technical failure during training flight.
Investigation about the plane crashed continued, the statement added.
