USAK - The Governor of Central Bank of Turkey, Durmus Yilmaz, said Friday year-end inflation in Turkey will be between 3.6 and 6.6 percent and may recede to a possible average of 5.1 percent according to current data.
Speaking at a conference on 2007 monetary policies at (western city) Usak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Yilmaz reiterated government's 4 percent inflation target for 2007.
Yilmaz said considering 2007 growth figures to be announced in March, inflation rates would change because assumptions on interest rates and oil prices would alter.
Yilmaz also said economic slowdown in third quarter of 2006 does not mean a slowdown in last quarter of 2006 or post 2006.
"We forecast 2006 growth around 5 percent compatible with the program." he added.
